NAME
    Dpchrist::Timestamp - generate time stamps

DESCRIPTION
    This documentation describes module revision $Revision: 1.21 $.

    This is alpha test level software and may change or disappear at any
    time.

SYNOPSIS
    In a Perl script:

        #! /usr/bin/perl
        use strict;
        use warnings;

        use Dpchrist::Timestamp qw( :all );

        my $local_timestamp = timestamp();
        my $zulu_timestamp  = timestampz();

    In a shell script:

        #! /usr/bin/bash

        LOCALTIMESTAMP=`timestamp`
        ZULUTIMESTAMP=`timestampz`

DESCRIPTION
    This Perl library contains two functions, *timestamp()* and
    *timestampz*(), which return strings representing the local time or UTC
    time (Zulu).

    Local time time stamps are of the format "YYYYMMDD-hhmmss".

    UTC time (Zulu) time stamps are of the format "YYYYMMDDThhmmssZ".

    The distribution also includes Perl scripts named *timestamp* and
    *timestampz*, which print the corresponding strings to STDOUT (newline
    terminated) for use in shell scripts, etc..

  EXPORT
    None by default.

    All of the subroutines may be imported by using the ':all' tag:

        use Dpchrist::Timestamp     qw( :all );

INSTALLATION
    Old school:

        $ perl Makefile.PL
        $ make    
        $ make test
        $ make install

    Minimal:

        $ cpan Dpchrist::Timestamp

    Complete:

        $ cpan Bundle::Dpchrist
