
The files marked patch-* in the directories below contain the patches for
the files of versions 1.37.1 and earlier of the GNU C compiler.  These
patches were created to support the allocation of shared memory static
objects on shared memory multiple processors, particularly the encore
machines.

These patches will be incorporated into the GNU C compiler at its next
release.

A new patch, contained in the patch-recog.c file, patches a GNU C compiler
bug which generates bad code for the National Semiconductor NS32K processor
in certain situations.  This patch came from Richard M. Stallman, author of
the GNU C compiler and will most likely be incorporated in the next
release.
