                               Command : SNOOP

 SYNTAX:
   [##:##] Command: snoop <SECTS>

The `snoop' command lets you perform border region reconnaissance operations
to enforce an oral treaty or as preparation for an attack (or even for a
prayer to the Deity).

The snoop report will reveal, in round figures, the numbers of troops, civili-
ans, guns, shells, iron, and planes and the sector designation and efficiency
in neighboring sectors.

The sectors denoted by <SECTS> are those from which you are snooping, (see
info syntax for format). Note: You can only snoop from sectors that have mili-
tary in them.

Note that the number of BTU's consumed is dependent upon the number of sectors
into which you snoop. A 5x8 area, for example, costs one full BTU.

If you are snooping on an nonallied country, there is a chance that your
snooper could be apprehended. The chance of being caught is dependent upon

                               Command : SNOOP

the number of patrolling military in the sector being reconnoitered.

If the other country is at war with you, the soldier sent on the snooping
assignment will be shot, and the other country (and the rest of the world via
news) will be warned that you tried to snoop on him...

If the other country is neutral towards you the snoop will be deported.

Note that `snoop' only provides you with information about sectors adjacent to
those you own. To reconnoiter deeper into foreign territory, you must
`recruit' a professional spy, then move and manipulate him with the `spy' com-
mand.
