                                Command : BID

 SYNTAX:
   [##:##] Command: bid

(There are two market systems available in Empire. A compile option deter-
mines which particular system a game will use. The bid command is used only
with the TRADE CENTER market.)

The bid command is used to set bid prices on commodities you wish to buy from
foreign customers in your trade centers.

The syntax for bid is:
   [##:##] Command: bid <COMM> <tradecenter-SECT> <PRICE> [THRESH]

The first parameter is the designator for the commodity you wish to buy. The
second parameter is the realm, region, or sector coordinate of the trade
center(s) you wish to work with. The third parameter is the price you're wil-
ling to pay. The fourth parameter is an optional quantity threshold above
which the sector will not overstock itself (you might want to set thresholds
on spendy items to prevent sellers from flooding you with more than you can
use while gouging money from you in the process).
