G'Day,
This is the parameterised face data from NYIT and Frederic Parke.

It has been doctored by Andrew Marriott so that students can learn
about facial animation and expressions. It uses the FORMS library by Mark H.
Overmars (Version 1.5). This is available for anonymous ftp from various
sites throughout the world. It is also possible to run the program without
the FORMS library with reduced interactivity.

We have 4d70gts as well as 4d20s (Silicon Graphics Iris
Workstations) and the code is for those machines. It should compile easily
with the supplied Makefile. It is suggested that a subdirectory be created,
the .tar.Z file be uncompressed and then untarred using the xvof switches
and then examine the Makefile for position of FORMS library or the need for
the FORMS library. Then type make and then type fascia. Happy smiling.

I have included several parameter files including one of royal
heritage. There is also an online help file and thats it. It is worthwhile
consulting the November 1982 issue of the IEEE Computer Graphics and
Applications journal for more info on the face.

We may release further versions of the face. This will be announced
but feel free to experiment as I did.

To quote the author, Frederic Parke:
"
As far as I am concerned, the facial animation code I gave you is public
domain. The only conditions are that the source of the code be credited and
that it is not supported in any way.

All of the "bumps and warts" in the code are entirely mine. It was
originally written in "SAIL" and later converted to "C". It has been hacked
and patched over a number of years for various purposes and then later
"retro graded" back to nearly the original UTAH form for public distribution.
So in many ways it is a brain damaged version of some much more capable
versions
that have evolved but are not available outside of the NYIT graphics Lab.

Release it as widely as you wish."

My thanks to Frederic Parke and the NYIT Graphics Lab.

	Andrew Marriott.
