Launch sound effects in the usual way.

The first time you launch you will get a dialog box from Alberto explaining about this release, it will not appear again.

The first thing you will get upon launch is a window "untitled sound" and another called "level"

In the record window ensure that you have set a record time, in the box marked ".00 seconds". double click on the box and you will be prompted (no record time means no recording is possible !)

From the menu bar "sound" pull down "record"

Use "device settings" to chose your input, currently set to "microphone"

If you make some noise (or silence !) little green hills will move right to left in the long box in the record window

To record stuff click on the left hand (round) button, the green hills will turn red. You are now recording !

Click on "save" and your sound will appear in the window "untitled sound"

The controls are much the same as any recorder, play pause etc etc.

The best one to get into is loop, which is the button on the far right, within a looped arrow in it. Click here and see what happens !

Loop points are set by clicking on the sound window and dragging the mouse.

HOT TIP once you have got a good loop, go to the "selection" menu and go "crop" then save. Sound Effects does not remember loop points, so this way you can just loop the entire sound when you load it again.

Good luck, and check out the "effects" menu for all the fun bits.......

For even more help look at the file "4 intro" there some ideas in "5 effects ideas".

Yours,

JJ
