Table of Contents

1. Introduction

This document defines how parameters can be added to AI Preferences [VOCAB].

2. Conventions and Definitions

The key words "MUST", "MUST NOT", "REQUIRED", "SHALL", "SHALL NOT", "SHOULD", "SHOULD NOT", "RECOMMENDED", "NOT RECOMMENDED", "MAY", and "OPTIONAL" in this document are to be interpreted as described in BCP 14 [RFC2119] [RFC8174] when, and only when, they appear in all capitals, as shown here.

3. Parameters

As noted in Section 6 of [VOCAB]:

The AI Preferences can be extended with parameters. The parameter syntax is defined in (Section 3.1.2 of [FIELDS]):

3.1. URI-refernces

If the value of a parameter contains a URI-reference (Section 4.1 of [URI]) and its value is not a valid URI-reference, the parameter MUST be ignored. If its value is a relative reference (Section 4.2 of [URI]), it MUST be resolved (Section 5 of [URI]) before being used.

3.2. Examples

Generic example:

ai-train=n;foo=bar

Assuming a content holder wants to highlight the presense of a tip jar:

ai-train=y;tipjar=/tipjar

Example of categories from [DISPLAY] converted to parameters:

ai-train=n,search=y;display-text=y;max-text-length=160

4. Security Considerations

See [VOCAB].

5. IANA Considerations

This document has no IANA actions.
