INSTALLATION NOTES AND OPERATING CONSIDERATIONS FOR
THE MEDWATCH PERSONAL DIABETES MONITOR (MWPDM) APPLICATION PROGRAM

GENERAL
The FutureWare Personal Diabetes Monitor program maintains a history of daily
blood glucose, ketone level, excercise and insulin readings, which are
displayed in a color-coded bar chart. These can be printed in bargraph,
linegraph or tabular form, which can be faxed to a physician's or other health
provider's office. The readings can also be emailed to a physician or other
health provider for remote monitoring.

If medication is being taken, then the program can keep track of usage,
prompting when a refill is needed, and open the default internet browser for
on-line internet prescription re-ordering if the issuing pharmacy has such
capability. This is described more fully in the Prescription Usage Monitoring
and the On-Line Prescription Re-Ordering sections.

The program's bargraph display details blood glucose readings, for a selected
review period, from daily to four months, and include the maximum, minimum and
average values for each over the selected period. Ketone levels, either taken
from a strip or read from a meter, are displayed as line items in the flyover
hints, tabular reports and comment review form. Excercise types and durations,
and when insulin is taken, are also displayed as line items in the flyover
hints, tabular reports and comment review form. The entering of readings is
described in the Entering Readings section.
