Aire Affair Kite Productions was very proud to have Ray Bethell set a new
world record
on Saturday June 15, 1996 of flying 3 stacks of 3 kites simultaneously.
Ray Bethell is a
more than amazing kite flier.

The skies also came alive both days with performances by the Bay Area
Sundowners!

Aire Affair Kite Productions would like to thank the following for making
this event a
success: Ride the Wind, TC Ultra, Spectra Sports, Wind Toys, AirMaster,
BFK, Kites
Etc., Up Up and Away Kites, Skyshark, Leading Edge Kites.

A very special thanks to Mr. Miguel A. Rodriguez for donating one of his
legendary
California WASP kites to the event.

These folks were also important in making sure that this event ran
smoothly- Head Judge
Craig Wong, Jim and Tim Campbell, Audio; Kathy Aggers, concessions; Bowdy
Aggers,
Field Director; Sandee Bush, registration; and the always affable Walt
Thompson, AKA
Regional Director for score keeping; and Jim Miller who volunteered
himself to do
anything.

Looking forward to more events in Southern California

Graciously

Aire Affair Kite Productions

Agreed, Ray's an amazing flier.

But, I've seen 3 stacks of 3 kite each flown simultaneously before
(over a year and a half ago) by Joe (?) [forgot his last name, perhaps
some of my southeastern compadrees can help out - He was at the
the Gone With The WInd Kite Classic in spring of 1995), so I
wonder, how is this a new record?

Just curious, not flaming,

Steve

The almost 400 mile trip is worth it to be a part
of The Air Affair Kite festival and competition. We had
a great time, and like the other events of Air Affairs, we
had a chance to meet our old friends and make new ones.

For those wondering, I believe the flyer that SPC is referring to here
is none other than "Photo" Joe Perron.
