I am a teacher and we are doing a unit on various cultures. I would like to do something with kites. I've been reading about the history of kites and how to make them and the various festivals that are going/will be going on. I have found much information about kites in Japan/Asia and the social/historical applications. What I would like to know now is how have other countries/cultures used kites in an historical context. How do/have peoples in other cultures use/have used kites beside just for the sheer fun of it? If anyone could share some insights and e-mail me privately I would appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
