I can't help you with everything, as I am still stuck in the middle of 
it,
however, I have got further in some parts (and behind in others:)

You need to go through the ship in the bottle scene on the way to 
getting
the required item.

The miniature in the NW corner will take you back in time, through the
slide projector.
Now you just need to get rid of some future hedge.
Don't do this just yet though, as you need some way to get back

Examine the ship.  What is there in the description that you can 
manipulate?



The main thing to concentrate on right now is the ship in the bottle, 
and
then marie swelldon.
This should give you the clues that you need to actually find some 
purpose
to the game.  (Along with Mad Isaac's diary)

Hmm been a while, and I admit I needed the walkthru/UHS file to beat 
it, but to the best of my memory:

Goats, wall of thorns: Perhaps a featurless wand can help you- once 
you find out what the feature is ;).

Ticket gates: Not used, though that kiosk has something youll need 
much later on.

corn crake: You should have something edible by now. Feed it.

Marie swelldon: You are getting sleepy, sleepy- your eyes are getting 
heavy....;)

Balcony: GRRRRRRRR HULK SMASH!!! ;)

Disclaimer: This hints are as I remeber them which might be totally 
wrong.  For a good no spoiler hint system I reccomend the UHS file
