I recently trotted out my old copy of Beyond Zork and tried to play it on
my relatively new computer. However, the game begins with a nearly unreadable
colour scheme, very bright gray background with lovely pale blue foreground.
The manual says I can change the colour scheme by typing colour; unfortunately
although game informs me it is now using a different colour palette, the screen
remains the same. The colours and graphics were fine on my old AT&T and its
peculiar proprietary half CGA half monochrome monitor. I tried switching my
monitor mode to CGA but the text then becomes to jagged too jagged to read
comfortably. Any suggestions? Is there a Z-machine interpreter that will allow
me to play this game and change the colour.

Thanks,

Nick

P.S. I really miss that ole ur-Grue and want to see him again!!
