Greetings all.

I'm the moderator of the group comp.binaries.acorn, and I'm posting to
try and get a hold of any Infocom related programs for the Archimedes
so I can bundle them all into a series of posts.

At the moment I've got:

 * Frank Lancasters original 'zip' which played version 3 and 4 games
but not on the desktop, plus the 120k of ASM sources to it. The main
difference to the interpreters that follow is that's it's *fast*.

 * I've also got Frank's new zipdebug which runs version 3-5 games and
has a built in debugger and editor. This also runs off the desktop.
I haven't got the Pascal source yet, but I can get them quite easily.

 * My port of InfoTaskForces version 3-5 interpreter, which runs in
a window on the desktop using simple 8x8 system font.

 * Bryan Scattergood's port of InfoTaskForces interpreter (the same one
as above) which uses Anti-Aliased Outline Fonts and runs in a window
   on the desktop.

 * My new port of Mark Howel's excellent interpreter that isn't quite
finished, but runs version 3-5 games on the desktop in a window. Apart
from being more stable, from the outside it looks almost identical to
   my ITF port.

What I'm looking for:

 * A couple of games to post with the whole bundle to let people sit
down immediatly and start playing. Curses and one of the Infocom
samplers should cover that quite nicely (and keep things nice and
   legal).

 * An Archimedes port of Inform (plus sources if that's possible).

 * Anything else for the Arc that I havn't heard of, as long as it's
fairly stable and will run under Risc OS 3.0/3.1. I don't mind
if its a desktop application of a command-line one.

 * Any newer versions of the programs I've already listed as "got"
above. I pulled them all off the newcastle info-server (except for
   my own of course).

I've just sent email off to Frank Lancaster and Bryan Scattergood to
ask if I can post their programs to the net (the docs that come with
them suggest this should be the case, but I thought it was best if I
could try and get their approval. If I can't get through to them I may
just well post the programs anyway). Email to ITF has never got through
so I'll skip asking them, but I'll email Mark Howell to ask if I can
post my port of his code as well.

If anyone reading this knows of any infocom related programs for the
Archimedes either the ones I've listed above or any others, or has info
about any such program, then could I ask you to email me at
'epoo1@cs.aukuni.ac.nz' and tell me all about it. *Please* don't post
any binaries to me as I have to pay for all my email so I don't want to
get 12 copies of X. I'd be happy to receive 12 offers of binaries as I
can then ask one person to send them to me.

Similarly if you can easily get Curses or any of the Infocom Samplers
(I can't, as I don't have any FTP privs here) then could you email me
telling me so, but don't send them, and hopefully I can ask one person
to forward them to me.

Thanking you in advance,
Edouard Poor.
