In a previous article, philip@labtam.labtam.oz.au (Philip Stephens) says:

(Actually the baseball diamond was in Zork II...I remember because the $#@!!
Wizard kept showing up and freezing/floating/fetc. me...oh it was so
satisfying to finally take his toy away...bahahaha... ;)

Well, I admit I took a long time to solve Zork I (and had to have a friend
tell me the answer to the Loud Room; for some reason that was less than
obvious to me). I attribute the difficulty of that to the fact that it was
the first though; solving those puzzles is definitely an acquirable skill.

By Suspended being difficult, I meant difficult to finish well (without
losing too many citizens) and difficult in the sense that it requires a couple
of paradigm shifts from the other games. That may be the same reason I found
Deadline quite difficult, but had little trouble with Suspended (Witness was
just plain easy ;).

And of course Spellbreaker was incredibly tough no matter how many games you'd
played before it...
