How much free RAM do you have? I have made some tests on my own machine,
reducing the available RAM to see how much the game needed. My result
was that I could run the program in 400 KB. Maybe you then must use
>save "filename"
because there may not be enough memory for the file-selector box.
The game I tried was not UU, but since TADS 2 use virtual memory that
result should be general for any game (I think - can anybody that knows
more about the internals of TADS comment?).
But the system must be able to do the necessary swapping, so the game
must run from a disk that
1) has some free space
2) is not write-protected
Besides, tr should not be started with the "pre-load all objects" option.

Rather it is because TADS 2 for the Atari ST is yet only a beta release.
On my high res monitor the games I have tried print white text on black
back background. But when I stop playing the game text seems to be black
on black (if I use "show file" etc.).
Which version of TADS 2 was it? All my talk is about 2.0.13, which is a
beta release available from ftp.gmd.de somewhere in the /if-archive
hierachy.
