I don't know.  All of the 'documentation' for Zork I, II, and III never came
with the original games.  They added it years later when they were releasing
them in new packaging and wanted to make the 'documentation' more similar to
their other games.  The only thing in the instructions for Zork I was a simple
description of the command syntax and some small examples.  It didn't even
tell you what the object of the game was.  Ahhh...to remember the good old
days...when the Apple II was a computer to be proud of :)

I even won a New Zork Times tshirt from their puzzle contest once, although I
don't remember what happened to it.  I even have the pre-New Zork Times
newsletter from the Zork fan club.
