Taxonomically, there are two basic types of message:

   (a)	on-topic threads, and
   (b)	off-topic threads

It is left as an exercise for the reader to determine
where the Cardinal's sig lives. I would not presume.

ObIF (I'm shooting for (a) after all):

Possible story-lines for r.[ga].if joint developments:

	* search for the Cardinal's signature, and force it through
the Inews-o-tron, compacting it down to four lines.

	* a Scot Adams' style treasure hunt for things to put in
the Cardinal's signature. Starting location: "The Pantry".

Think of Usenet as the electronic version of something that's partway between
a cocktail party and a soap opera. Except at this sort of cocktail party all
the guests have bags over their heads and communicate by leaving messages on
a sofa, where some messages become irretrievably lost down the back.
