You have to change the definition of RMODE from 0 to 0x8001 or ADVINT will 
stop reading the game files at the first 0x1A byte it finds. Get
if-archive/programming/advsys/advsydos.zip from ftp.gmd.de (or from
wuarchive.wustl.edu:/doc/misc/if-archive...), it contains a short 
description of this bug, a modified source file, a modified makefile, and 
DOS executables of ADVCOM andADVINT.
