Getfeldt's Treasure History

After trying some of the 'modern' adventure games and becoming
disenchanted with them I started looking for Text Adventures.
This led me to several great websites that still had the older
text adventures available. And, started me thinking about the
text adventures I had written long ago.

Getfeldt's Treasure has been brought back to life from an
adventure I wrote for the Tandy Color Computer. That version
was in Tandy Basic. It included limited graphics and very good
music and voice using a hardware ROM pack. The ROM pack
(Speech Systems, if I recall correctly) was one of the first
of its' kind. I was a contributing editor for Falsoft's PCM at
the time and got the ROM pack for my 'use'.

The current PC version is compiled under Quick Basic. An old
language to be sure but it fit the bill for what was needed to
reproduce the adventure. The compiled EXE file will run under all
versions of Windows -- even XP.

It does not include the graphic and sound but I am fairly confident
it will challenge even the more experienced adventurer.

I won't promise that there are no bugs -- but, testing was performed
by several experienced adventure gamers. The last run-throughs were
free of problems.

If any one has created a 'text' adventure under Visual Basic, I would
like to hear about it. That was my first instinct for Getfeldt'
Treasure but the overhead (all the support files) turned me off.

Any comments or suggestions will be most heartily received!
