		     Binaries for UNIXpc sendmail 5.58

	   [courtesy of Dave Brierley, dave@rayssd.ray.com]

ARCHIVE CONTENTS:

. sendmail	- UNIXpc executable for sendmail
  . smail	- smail2.5 configured for sendmail
. mail	- new mail interface, configured for smail/sendmail
  . sendmail.8	- man page
  . manta.cf	- manta's current sendmail.cf file (useful as a model
		  only---edit for local site)

INSTALLATION, BRIEFLY (as root):

1. mv sendmail /usr/lib; chmod 4511 /usr/lib/sendmail
2. chown root /usr/lib/sendmail; chgrp bin /usr/lib/sendmail
3. ln /usr/lib/sendmail /usr/lib/newaliases
4. ln /usr/lib/sendmail /usr/lib/mailq
5. mkdir /usr/spool/mqueue; chown root /usr/spool/mqueue
6. chmod 755 /usr/spool/mqueue
7. mv smail /bin; chown bin /bin/smail; chmod 755 /bin/smail
8. mv /bin/mail /bin/lmail; mv mail /bin; chown bin /bin/mail
9. chmod 755 /bin/mail
[NB: /bin/lmail should be group mail, mode 2711]
10. ln /bin/smail /bin/rmail

That's pretty much it. Sendmail can run safely suid (unless you've
got ethernet, because this version has the network security holes).
Make sure you set up your own /usr/lib/sendmail.cf and then "freeze"
it by running sendmail -bz.

Good luck!
