Dragon must have never tried NetBSD then, eh?  Dragon, if you're not
interested in learning about operating systems (that is, you don't
understand why Minix was developed), then you at least owe it to yourself to
jettison that copycat OS, Linux, and use a professional OS, such as NetBSD.
I think you will find that NetBSD is far superior to Linux in every
important way.

As a person who has been recently doing substantial WDM kernel driver
development for W98 and W2K, I can confidently say that you do not know what
you are talking about.  Also, have you not been paying attention to
slashdot?  NT "kicked the pants off" Linux in the latest benchmarks, and
this is when the Linux gurus tuned and tuned their implementations.

If you want a hobby OS, written by amateurs, for amateurs, then, by all
means, get Linux.
