The compiler include with 1.7.1 is an ANSI C compiler, more or less the
same one as advertized in Andy's web page for $199.

The 386 compiler should be able to handle everything. We are using it
under Minix-386vm to compile X11, which comes close to everything. :-)

We have also compiled diffutils-2.7, grep-2.0, joe-2.8, smail-3.1.28,
elm, mh, bc, gawk-2.11, gzip-1.2.4, screen-3.02.00, less-177,
mtools-2.0, mpeg_play-2.0, xanim2683, xv-3.10, perl-4 (Hi Larry),
python, httpd, chimera and Taylor UUCP with it, so I guess it sortof
works. One does have to twiddle a config file here and there, or
replace an #include <sys/param.h> or <sys/time.h> with something more
sensible.

Bcc was created by Bruce Evans so that he could compile Minix-386 under
Minix-86, and later Minix-386 under itself. Minix-386 exists thanks to
Bruce and bcc. Alas bcc can only do classic C. (It was a bad day when
I retired bcc to the eternal backup earlier this year.)
