conversion_service 1.1 for WinNT/Win9x/Win2k
program written by Juergen Breitlow jbh.bln@foni.net

The program is released under the GNU Public license.
It is still under development.

The program can be used to automaticly convert postscript files into
differnt other file formats (pdf, jpg, tif). It requires Ghostscript
6 or higher for the conversion.
After the program is started it periodicly checks an in directory for
postscriptfiles. If one appears the program waits for the file to be
accessable and starts Ghostscript with the desired driver.
The output file is put together with the original file to an out directory.
After the conversion message is placed into the status queue.

installation

The program needs TCL 8.3 and Ghostscript 6 or higher versions to be
installed.
After starting the program searches for an configuration file convert.cnf in
the current directory. In and out path, device and resolution and path to gswin32c
are read from this file. The settings can be chaged in the settings window
available via the settings button at the main window.

known bugs and todo's
- errors are not detected, output of ghostscript is catched but not analysed.
- ghostscript is called via an batch file because direct calls of the executable
  caused problems with path conversion.
- inteface is not "tuned" yet

I'd appreciate bug reports, and comments and suggestions to jbh.bln@foni.net
