I found it ok at 28.8k last year, once it'd drawn the menubar and
such.  Obviously i didn't go reading email with huge images in it or
anything, but it was pleasant enough to use (especially since I'm
another one of these proportionally spaced font freaks :)

I was doing dxpc over an ssh tunnel, although I've heard dxpc doesn't
help that much on top of ssh's compression...

I haven't tried it since I got a 33.6k modem earlier this year.
