Normally, when one just presses RET at the prompt presented by
`find-file', he enters dired for that directory.

However, when I edit a file, pressing RET at a `C-x C-f' prompt brings
me back to that file -- i.e. it does nothing. Is it a bug or a
feature? If a feature, I find it quite annoying.

I'd like `C-x C-f' to always call dired if I give it a directory.

If noone will scream against it, I'm ready to investigate the matter
and submit a patch.
