Solaris and Irix are annoying since you have to specify all the run
paths explicitly.  Being forced to take responsibility for the run
paths is, however, often a good thing.

IIRC, AIX was annoying in the opposite way.  The linker figured out
the run paths automagically, and it was non-trivial to change its
mind, once made up.
