Solaris 2.4 also comes with htt.  Make sure LANG=ja when you start
your window system (either OpenWindows or CDE (which I use)), and
*every* app starts doing the XIM thing.  The CDE runtime language can
be set from the login screen.

In particular, dtterm+XIM just works.  No need for a special program
like kinput.
