Well, it isn't as bad as all that.  view-lossage presents a useful
concatenation of information.  I can't count the number of times
I've been typing rapidly and some strange context switch happened,
the editor feeps or flashes something in the echo area.  Instead
of scratching my head wondering whether I just nuked the world
instead of refilling a paragraph, I can usually C-h l and figure
it out.
