But where is the makeinfo source that we are supposed to ship?  Am I
missing something?  Maybe my previous mail about the subject was
misleading:

   By ``makeinfo source'', I mean the source to the GNU makeinfo
   utility.

This is what I meant when I proposed removal of the .info pages
originally.  We /cannot/ expect people building/installing XEmacs to
have makeinfo on their systems.  It's inexcusable.

We should at least provide a configure test for makeinfo, and use
XEmacs' formatting facilities if it is not present.  But that is a bad
solution, as formatting all the info tree would take an enormous
amount of time.

I apologize if my misexpression has caused the mistake, but we cannot
release XEmacs without the ability to build its info tree.
