Actually, my hope was that people could investigate for themselves what the 
latest version of the package was.  That way, I wouldn't have to 
continually update the data.  The pointers represent a way for people to 
check for themselves.  Pop quiz: what is the latest version of Gnus?  I'm 
on the ding list, and sometimes I have trouble keeping up.  The links are 
provided for the curious.  Some new package versions may work, but YMMV.
