Ok.

I've uploaded some backgrounds to my WWW site. Maybe some of them
will be useful for color themes?

Q: Can XEmacs make a background stipple from a jpeg or gif, rather
than an xpm, since the xpm files are so huge by comparison?

I imagine that once the ascii xpm file gets parsed and turned back
into a glyph, it is small again.
