Oh definitely, if he wants to do it, who am I to discourage it? :-)

Depending on the time between real (not patch) releases, it would be
easier for *me* to just check the known bugs page and point people to
that, then put together more tar distributions.  But that's just me,
and I'm not volunteering to do the work anyway, so I'll shut up now.
