Here's a message I meant for the list last Friday, but ended up only
going to David. Looks like Steven already replaced the "dotted
backslashes" with better glyphs so that's taken care of. I would still
like to know how to set the color of these if someone could let me
know. And David agreed the last issue I raise is irritating so maybe
that can get looked into.

Thanks,
Greg

Making these consistent would be great, though I can't say I ever
liked that dotted backslash. It looks far too much like a regular
backslash to me. I do like the "wrapped" arrow though - now that
won't be confused with text. Maybe someone artistic could design
something better for the dotted backslash.

Is there a way to change the color of these things? That might help
distinguish them. The only faces that looked like they might do it
were left-margin and right-margin, but they seemed to have no effect.
I couldn't figure out what these do - the doc string "left margin
face" wasn't really sufficient.

While we're on the subject, another thing I've always found annoying
occurs when you're entering something in the minibuffer and you exceed
the width of the screen. It scrolls left by a full screen and all you
see is the cursor, with no context. If it only scrolled like 1/4
screen at a time it would be much nicer. If there's already a package
or variable to do this let me know - maybe it should be the default?

just my 2 cents,
Greg
