X-Mailer: Gnus v5.4.30/XEmacs 19.15(beta101)

Is it about time to start generating the list of changes from 19.14 to
19.15? I don't think the current version of NEWS is very
relevant anymore. I'd like to see the questions answered (in about
this order):

- Cool things for XEmacs 19.15 (e.g. smiley.el, tm, toolbar, ...)
+ This should be high level (relatively short)
+ It should tease people to want to try it
+ It should include short code fragments to enable the feature
- What's different between XEmacs 19.14 and XEmacs 19.15
+ This section is to inform existing XEmacs 19.14 users what they
might need to change and new things they should try out.
+ A statement about the goals for 19.15
+ A feature by feature list of changes (see below). Arbitrarily long.
- What's in XEmacs 19.15
+ There is so much old, cool stuff it's easy to ignore good things.
+ Two sentence description of every provide'd feature
- What's different between GNU Emacs 19.34 and XEmacs 19.15
+ This section is to entice people to switch.
[I think it should be written to suck up to the FSF. I hate
giving ammunition to people that want to argue about attitude.]
   + Basic display stuff
+ Features (aka packages) in one that are not in the other
   + Speed difference
   + Common gotcha's

If there is some consensus on the above, I'll make more concrete
suggestions about what everyone can do.
I'll volunteer to collect and organize all this information, as well.

Comments?

Following is an attempt to find all the things that are provide'd by
the lisp code:

find lisp -name '*.el' -print | xargs grep '(provide' >/tmp/provided
sed -e '/^[ ]*;/d' -e "s/^.*\'//" -e 's/).*//g' /tmp/provided | sort -u
