I was nosing around in the lispref and saw mention of subwindows. Interesting.

Did a 'M-x apropos subwindow' and came up with several hits. Great.

Tried to eval '(make-subwindow)' and got this error:

subwindows are not functional in 19.14; they will be in 19.15

Rats.

Maybe an updated message is in order?

What is the intent of subwindows, and what is their status?
