Well, not need, but it would be nice.

So, who all is outside of this bastion of fascist thought/code-control I
grudgingly call my home, that would be willing to do the actual coding
(well, reimplementation) of my SSL patches?  I could give pretty detailed
instructions on what exactly I did, using SSLeay.

It was actually surprisingly easy.
