Just to add bandwidth, the British use day/month/year like the Continental
Europeans, but we use am-pm whereas Continental Europeans use both.

It's getting near the beginning of April, so how about changing Emacs to
have decimal time?  Decimal is modern, and sounds like "digital".  A winner.
