Yes, and after the fifth or sixth time this happened to me, I
wanted to nuke the world.  I really get torqued by "garbage
collecting..." and "loading..." messages washing across the space
where I'm trying to type, not to mention the loading delays.

In my dream Emacs, the echo area and the minibuffer are two
different places.  Maybe I'll hack balloon-help so that it can
display a message, then rebind `message' to point to it, and give
my blood pressure a break.
