That did it.

No problems, except I just noticed that VM msgs (the ones you get when
you run your mouse over the VM toolbar buttons) are getting sent to
the wrong minibuffer.  I'm using CDE with focus-follows-mouse, but I
don't have the XEmacs var focus-follows-mouse set to t.  I guess I
probably should.  I'll try it and see what happens...
