Wee!  That would be good!  You might even use the widget library --
which will now be fast enough to be actually usable.

I'd say, go from scratch, and add the features you like.  That's what
I did with Gnuserv, and people seem satisfied.  Sometimes it is better
to start over than to drag old code.

Yes.  But be careful with MANPATH.  Look at Jamie's comment in
`man.el', for instance.  I have queried once Jamie about it, and (as
usually) he seemed to know what he was talking about.
