It turns out that I had `gnuserv-frame' set to
`gnuserv-special-frame-function' and not to 'special. Something must
have changed since I'd set that.

By the way, I like how it's possible to click on "Customizable User
Option" in apropos now, to customize a variable. :-)

After setting it properly, `gnuclient -nw ....' functions again,
almost. The font's are the wrong color on a black xterm. I wonder
if there's a way for it to know what color you've got the xterm set
 to?

It should be able to display in the xterm or on the console using the
colors set for that device, and not using the ones set for X.

It also might be good to rebind C-x C-c so that it doesn't kill the
XEmacs, just exits the gnuclient session... `gnuserv-edit' only
works in you're standing in the buffer you opened. Maybe C-x C-c
should exit the gnuclient session no matter what buffer you're
standing in when you press it, if you're in a tty or remote display?
