I was reading email with Gnus (5.4.63) from home using

gnudoit '(make-frame-on-display "'$DISPLAY'")'

Some new email came in so I did "1 g" (all of my mail groups are on
level 1). Gnus seemed to hang. I pressed C-g and I got an error
'nnheader-run-at-time: quit' (or something like that. I apologize for
not writing it down). I'm using NoCeM, and I use
gnus-demon-scan-nocem.

My *Group* buffer was not updated with the new mail. When I did a M-g
on the group (I split my mail using nnmail-split-fancy), the number of
unread messages were updated correctly and I could read the new mail.

I finished reading mail and did C-x 5 0 to remove the frame. When I
came into work, my XEmacs had died and I found the message of doom.

I'm sending this message here and not to bugs@gnus.org because of the
XEmacs death.

I used these options to configure:

--site-includes=/usr/local/include --site-libraries=/usr/local/lib
--error-checking=none --with-database=berkdb --with-mule

$ uname -a
FreeBSD computer.eng.mindspring.net 2.2-BETA_A FreeBSD 2.2-BETA_A #0:

root@computer.eng.mindspring.net:/usr/src/sys/compile/COMPUTER i386

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if not so I can do
better next time.

Drew

There followed a period of embarrassment as the rumour went round
London that Joey Mellen had trepanned himself, whereas in fact he
had failed to do so.
