This seems to be a menu widget issue - on my screen it will pop it to
the right if there's room, or left if there's not. Since the window
can always be right up against the right hand side of the screen (at
which point even the initial pulldown is slewed a bit leftwards to
keep it on screen), I don't know that it's all THAT big a
consideration. And of course, the font you use for this will make
a difference as well.

Perhaps what's *really* needed here is a user-specified way of hinting
how menus should behave (constrain menu windows to try to remain within
the parent window if possible, for example). Given that on my screen, if
the window is all the way to the right, even some of the 'tools' submenus
wrap left(*), I'm not sure what we can do specifically to assist the 'help'
menu.

(*) "compile" and "apply patch" pop right, while 'vc', 'compare',
'merge', and 'tags' pop left. Hell, even 'options'/'printing options'/
'pretty-print paper size' pops up to the left so as not to go off the edge ;)
