Of course not, but having a subset of the auxiliary libs in binary
form (that is, the one that could be seen as a "vital minimum" to use
XEmacs features) could be provided both in source form (as it is done
now) and binary form.

Providing libraries is much less of a job than providing a full
executable is. For that matter, on HPUX, I still use libs compiled on
9.05 to build 10.20 binaries, without a problem. Similarly, all Irix
6.X binaryes I build uses the same aux libs.
