It would not be wise.  I'm not arrogant to believe that it will
all be working right.  The changes are significant and VM will be
getting a new major version number.  Carry on with your plans and
release v5 VM and whatever version of TM has been well tested
with it.

I will release VM 5.97 with a couple of bug fixes before I go on
holiday.  Sooner, if the XEmacs release is pending and you want
to integrate it.
