Of course, you misunderstand the point of this -- just like I did,
when I first argued with Kyle about it.

For example, you are in Gnus summary buffer.  Now, instead of pressing
`m', you press `M-x gnus-summary-mail-other-window'.  For the reasons
discussed before, the message will be printed after the command
executes, and it will say -- what?  The point is that the message
informs the user that he *could have* pressed `m' to achieve the same
result.

This is why I believe that the current behaviour is correct.
