    times' when it was badly broken and I've gotten spoiled to having it
    again.

Hey, I didn't expect this! :-)

This may come strange to hear from me, but I don't use gnuserv
normally -- I simply don't need it.  I use very few external programs
that would require an editor (to set to gnuclient).

When I saw how horrible and kludgy old gnuserv.el was, I just *had* to 
rewrite it.  Also, I was learning about `defstruct' and CL features at 
the time (hi Kyle!), so I had to test those beasties, too.  However, I 
am pleasantly surprised that this complete rewrite has passed more or
less seemlessly -- I had expected much more bug reports, which has
lead me to the wrong track of believing that too few people /use/ the
package.

I guess today is the day to be proud of myself! ;-)


P.S.
Now that we're all in such a good mood, I'll try to sell you this
wonderful new abbrev.c patch......
