It took only four years to be released !

This is mtrack, originally named for Motif-track, but in the period 1996 to
1999 it has lain on my hard disc unloved and unwanted. But it is back,
modified to use the GTK+ widgets and revamped for the new millenium. It goes
without saying that in order to build this program, you need a functioning X
windows system as well as the GTK toolkit, for more information about them
look at http://www.gtk.org/.

Mtrack is a satellite tracking program. No more and no less, it is under the
GNU Public license and is therefore free to use, distribute and modify as
you see fit.

The program is based on a DOS program I wrote called microtrack which worked
with Hercules video displays. The README.old file you find included went
with that version and is a reasonable guide as to the facilities and usage
of this version.

I have grand plans to enhance the program further, but it all depends on
time available to me and of course enthusiasm. Please look at the TODO file,
as at least one of the projects requires no programming experience (writing
the help files).

Please note that using older versions of GTK+ can produce problems. I
recommend that you try and get the latest version that you can. My
development was done with GTK+ version 1.2.2.

Since writing the above, my life has been turned upside down. I have got
married moved house, changed call sign, and various other less earth
shattering things. The time available for me to hack is now strictly limited
so I would be happy if someone else would take over responsibilty for the
program from me.
