This archive contains 30 GNU Chess 4.0-files for the Bednorz-
Thoennissen-2450-Test from the magazine 'Computer Schach und
Spiele'.
The rating is obtained by noting the seconds when the correct
move is found and retained to the end of a 15-minute search.
If a different move is selected one assumes 15 minutes. These
30 times in seconds are then added and divided by 60. The ra-
ting is then 2450-(2*<that number>).
The ELO-ratings obtained so far (pl. 60 as distributed by the
valkyries.andrew.cmu.edu) running only MS-DOS 6.0:
386-16: 1675 (1031 Positions per second)
486-33: 1724 (5530 Positions per second)
486-50: 1745 (6684 Positions per second)

The executable for DOS contains 2 batchfiles to run the tests
automatically (Just type 'bt' and <X86-YZ> e.g. '586-99').
You will need 'grep' to produce the output file that sums up
the findings. Please email me the results.
