An introduction to the concepts and jargon of TCP/IP internets. gao-report The U.S. Gov't Accounting Office report on the Internet worm attack of late 1988. sendmail-tutorial.txt A brief tutorial on some of the issues of setting up sendmail. nist-secure-guide.txt This guide explains how to go about reducing your risk of attack from computer viruses, unauthorized users, and related threats. The bulk of the advice is on how to administer one's system so as to avoid the dangers as much as one can. The guide emphasizes setting up a strong security program as a means of defense. unix-secure.txt An excellent guide to the subject of UNIX security. The issues are clearly explained, and many examples are included for improving security in UNIX systems in general and Sun systems in particular. Also included is a section on monitoring the security of a system over time, along with a section on publicly available software for improving security.
